    hi folks!

You know how, when using the Dimension Tool, you can't write a line then use the enter key to start a new line?

Well this is a neat trick I learned to allow you to do this. I use it quite often when making Plans.

Type your first line, then type \n, followed by the next line. When you finish editing it you'll see two lines of text. Go in and Edit one of the lines in this skippy and you'll see what I did.

You can also put the \n in front of a line to drop the line down. I learned this on the original @Last forum. I hope alot of you didn't know this πŸ˜„

Geeze agraz, about everything I know about SUp (and computers!) I learned on the old forum.

I'll try and post more when I realize they might be useful.

Darn, not getting notifications from this new forum. Have my preferences set to receive them too ..

          Thanks Joe,
That is indeed very very helpful.

            Good tip, Joe!

I know that certain scripts use \n for new lines (like php) but one just wouldn't think it works from whithin SU though we know it's (at least partly) based on scripting...

Cool. I didn't even know you could edit the dimensions from the dimension tool. Came in real helpful yesterday. Had to do a quick down and dirty sketch of the layout for some proposed chain link fencing at my Church to submit to a contractor for a bid. While my measurements were right on the money, my dimensions came in a half inch off due to where SU put the inference points on some of them. Select, type in the actual numbers and voila. πŸ˜„ Also handy for text descriptions of the gates I needed in the fence.

May all your dimensions be the sum of their total.

So happy to pass that one along! Learned it on the old @Last Forum! Almost as handy as
Johny Lemier's putting a 'Space into Text Leaders' trick!

I use it all the time. The Code for this Dimension is
                  \n\n\n\n\n11' 6"\n clearance\n inside

                    Could you or Johny elaborate?

That's how you can get two Leader Lines coming off of one line of Text.

Your second Leader Line, bring it up to your 1st LL, then type in a space instead of any additional text.

i must be doing something wrong as it did not work for me. i typed this: 1st line \n second line but the whole thing remained on the same line.
