I Think I've Finally Finished my Falkestraße Model...
-
...and it only took me twenty-two years...

-
Looks great. Wouldn't fancy cleaning those windows.
-
Love it! This reminds me of Lebbeus Woods. One of my all time favorites.
-
Amazing work, truly inspiring. I couldn't resist; I created an oil painting of it using D5 Render Lite (without Photoshop retouching) and placed this glass roof in Paris. Sorry, I hadn't noticed that the building is actually in Germany?
I also have it in 4K.

@Krass Nice..!!! It's actually in Vienna, Austria...
-
Grüß got!

Is this project a fantasy, or does the city allow this type of modification in historic districts? I know there's a Viennese tradition of modernism; I can't remember the name of this architect from the 70s, I think he worked with colorful and organic forms, if it is indeed in Vienna.

Hundertwasser... but that has nothing to do with your topic
-
@Krass It was completed in 1987. They got around planning by classifying it as art after a meeting with the mayor of Vienna. Art isn't governed by planning law...
Read about it here:
Coop Himmelb(l)au's Falkestrasse rooftop "broke every rule"
Continuing our series reinvestigating deconstructionism, we look at Coop Himmelb(l)au's dramatic rooftop extension on Falkestrasse in Vienna.

It was the photos in this article that allowed me to get the missing information to complete the model. .. and also to realise how many mistakes I'd made...

Thank you, that's very interesting. You deserve credit, it's a real puzzle...

Superb animation, I've never seen one so well done, without a rendering engine... it really shows the advantage of ambient occlusion in SU. It's better than virtual reality. Bravo!
-
@Krass Which animation..???
-
both, you posted two videos, you used SU
-
@Krass Oh, right... they weren't showing up for me after I posted them... I can see them now.......
-
That's why it's double posted... I assumed they hadn't been accepted for whatever reason...
-
A very impressive project and not disrespect intended to them but, I end up looking at this sort of project and asking myself, Why?
-
@Mike-Amos Because.

That is some model. Tremendous details. Animation was on point too. I always like native SU output.
