OK, perhaps not how things "Should be done" but, I would extrude arcs and lines. Breaking up the line to create a like for like number of facets as the arc I was extruding with. This has worked pretty well for a long time but, now, no more than two facets from a line.

Getting a bit tiresome where things change with no notice.

I got best results with extrusion tools when used with this setup for lines/arcs.

TIG Weld seems to be working fine in SU2026 for me. I also use Eneroth AutoWeld which will weld any edges that can be welded in a selection.

I find that ONE operation can be performed post weld, after that the line welded reverts. Talking about using extrude tools to create a face (A door skin for example). Possibly something to do with Sketchup like as not.

There are a number of extensions that wind up exploding curves. Round Corner and Fredo Corner do. Also the various Boolean tools explode curves. Follow Me does, as well. As a matter of habit I run Auto Weld frequently. I also find Auto Weld important for restoring circles and arcs.
