Part of a line?

The eraser tool deletes the entire line. Can one erase part of a line?

Draw a line or a number of lines intersecting the line you want to edit the line you which to edit wile be split by the intersect, Then delete what you wish to delete

A curve could be a line with multiple segments so if you try to delete a segment it will delete the whole curve.
Use the entity info panel to deduce what property it has.

For a curve you have two choices :
1 - Use the same method as what was shown for a straight edge.
2 - Explode the curve then delete unwanted segments. Of course parts of segments can be deleted if method 1 is used.
