Beautiful Amsterdam

Thank you Dave... It is far different from a touristic holiday though...
-
While it is a working (What we call a bus drivers holiday) trip, it is good to see you taking the time to smell the coffee.
Cracking pictures thanks for showing them to us.

the secret is to make sure you're taking advantage of the mass transit system and weekends. i was fortunate enough to spend about 9 months of a year there and walking around on the weekends, and playing in the open mics around the city (thereby meeting people as well ). it's not a big city (like London for example) so on a weekend you can cover quite a lot of territory and really see the small shops and restaurants etc that are missed when taking taxis... renting a bike is nice as well but there is a "stolen bike" problem (mainly the city takes the bikes then resells them -- but that's a different discussion )

Thank you Glenn for sharing your experience!

Some fresh sketches.

Today the weather was volatile, sunny, and rainy...and I had some spare time (thanks to a supportive friend, here) to go out for sketching. Here is the result.
-
As always Majid, your sketch is great.
-
Thanks a million. An unseen friend here bought me some spare time. I appreciate it.
-
Thanks for showing these mate. They are wonderful and brighten up every day.
-
Special thank to you Mike, you made it possible.

Today was a foggy day. The Amstel River bank is part of my route to university. I took several pictures and now painted one of them. I realized that those similar nuances of the colors are really hard to grasp.

These are lovely sketches, thanks for sharing them here!
-
...yes, all these works are not only of impressive quality but above all so beautiful!
-
This is why I have some spare time to do sketches ( as I also sell them for a low price that helps me pay the rent):
I think this post well deserves a dedicated topic, and during the last two months, I have been thinking to reveal it or not. Or do I have permission to reveal it or not; Finally decided to share it and this is the story:
One of our virtual community (Sketchucation) members, as far as noticed that I am moving to the green continent (for the course I have attended), approached me and did a great job that I may never ever find a word to show my respect and gratitude for.
Despite the living facts that we all are facing, he is sending me a financial aid each month, (that is almost the same as my monthly salary that I lost as I quitted my previous job to join the course).
I am overwhelmed, and during these dark days that we are facing nowadays (conflicts, wars ...) this is what gives meaning to the words such as "humanity", "prosperity", "generosity", "sympathy"...
Mates, this is so overwhelming... so overwhelming... so precious and invaluable.
I hope soon to be able to do something for him. -
Glad that you have found a place where you (and hopefully you family) can live in peace. Also glad someone is able to help you financially.
-
My course is really tense, by the way, I dedicated 15 min each day for several weeks to do a painting of Her Majesty Queen Maxima.

Oh man, thank you for nice compliments.
