One of the bottom rails and rear leg (the one on the left side) needs to be behind the other rails and legs. Dave, that is not like you. You are usually ver accurate/precise with your models. 😍

What? This one is very precisely modeled as intended. I believe M. C. Escher would approve even if it makes Rich's eyes hurt. πŸ˜„

Maybe I am having eyesight problems. Look at the front right leg and the top right rail. Am I see things in fron of them that should be behind them?

Oh well, I have an appointment with my cataract surgeon in August for my annual checkup. Maybe she can resolve the issue. DUH!

I hope so. You might want to have a look at the work of M. C. Escher. For example this:

I worked really hard to make that. Well, not really hard. It isn't hard to do at all but it is intentional.

Sorry guys. No I have never heard of Escher. I was trying to be honest. If I need to apologize, then that is what I am doing. 😳

No need to apologise, just google search escher and look.
I can't imagine working in any sort of imaged based industry and not be aware of M.C.Escher.
Do the search and click the images button, then do the reading.

I looked at some of the stuff on the website but did not read at the bottom.

Got started in all of this stuff by drawing 3D car wash equipment and layouts. I am pretty naive to some of the stuff you guys share.

Scroll back up to the image Dave posted, look at the waterfall and how it drops into a 'canal' now follow the canal to see where the water goes.
                              Now model that path.

                                      Hi! Nice work!
Can we see an orbiting animation of the model starting from the right viewpoint? It might help some to understand the trick! πŸ˜‰

It's modeled in the same way it would need to be made in reality. Here's something to show that. Click on the image if the GIF doesn't run.

I wonder how you might achieve this. I found a quick and easy way. I've been thinking about possible ways to apply the method in a more practical sense.

                                          Thanks !
It's great to see the method you used. I was actually thinking of a different approach, more along the lines of a perspective trick like this (not mine, found on giphy):

                                          https://media.giphy.com/media/l41YhNbe5to95ghmU/giphy.gif

I think it might be challenging to achieve accurate shadows though...

Accurate shadows would be a challenge but probably easier in mine since the straight parts aren't curved.
