Revit to SKP conversion
-
Hi. there is a twinmotion competition based on an existing revit model. I have downloaded the file asuming I would be able to open it in sketchup pro, but no. Any ideas guys how i would be able to convert the RVT file to SKP?

There's an extension called rvt2skp but now that uploads your file to the cloud and emails you the download link. It's also $99/yr
It used to do the conversion locally and had a trial but that seems to have changed.
Other than that you could ask for an IFC version and import that.

Hi Rich and thanks, but what is an IFC request?
Other things I have tried is to download Sketchup studio free trial because that will convert it, you know the Sketchup pro we pay for does not, even though it is called 'Pro". There is also a way to do it with Trimble connect through skeychup which is so convuluted and all i got to do was covert it through there but all I ended up with was the RVT file had a Sketchup logo on it

You could use the trial of 3DS Max. Import the rvt file and export as obj or fbx.
Or use the trial version of the Simlab SKP Exporter Plugin for 3DS Max to export a skp file.Or you could use the trial of Revit and export obj, fbx or ifc from there.
