      Hi All,
I have a real issue here. I have sent my exported DWG from Sketchup to a consultant to work on. He has come back to me with drawings that are completely dimensionally wrong. At first, I could not understand this until I checked the SKP export in Autodesk DWG Trueviewer 2022 that I had done. Can someone please confirm my findings from the attached files.

I have contacted support on this matter but would appreciate knowing if anyone else can see the issue.

      All the best

The attached is a ZIP file which shows the SKP, DWG and a PIG screen shot

I can confirm your exported .dwg reads...

If I export your .skp to .dwg using the default .dwg export options...

        I get 700mm...

So what are your export settings?

          Thanks Rich,

I am using 2D export default settings and have tried Autocad 18, 13 release 14 and 12 and still get erroneous results in the dwg. I tried the 3d export too and still get errors.

I have tried a fresh file and just drawn some rectangles to test it out, and all works fine, so it's local to just this file.

I have used the unwrap and flatten faces plugin on this file and wondered if a plugin could affect the output in this way.

          Very strange.

Are you using a Standard View (top, front etc) and Parallel Projection.

Just out of curiosity, see if this is the right size.

                Test exportBox.dwg

                    I have tried them all.

Then I think you have missed the point of my question.
Exporting an image or even a model from sketchup uses the camera view settings. So effectively what you see is what you get. (wysiwyg) Hence my question, are you using a standard view and parallel projection.

In your case it needs to be standard view top and parallel projection. This aligns the geometry you are exporting with the view that it will export. If you are not looking straight down on it it will not be the correct size.
So all I did was set your model to Standard View Top and Parallel Projection and then export the dwg which you found to be accurate.

                      Hello Box All,

Yes, I did completely miss the whole point of reality and of course parallel projection. A complete and utter brain fart, I am embarrassed to say. Thank you for your patience and help, but again total total user error. I feel so stupid. 😳
                      All the best 😳

You're not the first and I'm sure you won't be the last. This is a very common mistake.
