          D5 Render. It's a render program.

Looks good mate, possibly tone down the contrast a bit.

                Thanks!

Yeah, D5 is tricky. Still getting the hang of fine tuning it.

I looked at the website on my iPad and the pages were a little messy (again, on my iPad).

                  • Is there a “hobby” or free version?

                  • From what I could see, it appears to have a lot of interesting features:

                  • Animation (with some interesting controls like key frame management)

                  • Sophisticated materials (and it looked like animated materials)

                  • Available assets

                  • Light management options

                  • Background options (HDRI and etc.)

Did I see this correctly? If so, looks like it could compete with tools like Enscape and Twinmotion!

Yes, there is a free version and its only restriction is the number of built-in assets such as models and materials you can use. It's what I use. But you have to be sure to register to use them.

It's insanely fast. Less than a minute to render this scene. (o.k. I DO have a nice PC these days, but it's not top of the line nice. More like entry level workstation/gamer class, and very happy with it!)

The other caveat is that you must have Open GL 3 and at least a 4GB GPU.

I continue to use Raylectron as well. I'm quickly finding both have their place in my toolbox.

D5 did not do well with the country bridge while Raylectron nailed it. Raylectron did not do well with this lobby, but D5 nailed. Having choices is very nice, for a change.

As Mike suggested, I reduced the contrast and also the shadows by a little and upped the exposure a little as well.

                      Good suggestions!

Hi Bryan, that render is comming along. I think that the material of the floor etc is sketchup native material "wood floor light" since there is so much of it I would suggest a better material with normal maps etc "PBR" it would make a big difference to your render. And perhaps the material on the standard lamps seems to now work well with the context?

                            Thanks L i am.

Here is the photo and the materiel was as close as I could get to the photo. The floor is wood and the walls are stone planks. I cannot afford to pay for materials so I have to work with what I have. Stone planks were not in my inventory. 👍

I also spent a lot of unnecessary time fighting the model and the render. Don't know why. Technical issues kept cropping up that should not have existed and by the end, I had enough trouble that I was finished. I don't get paid for these. 😉

I'm also still learning the finicky ways of D5.

As with many of models and renders, I may revisit it again in the future.
