This did not quite turn out how I wanted. But it's good enough for now.

My problem these days is that every time I want to make a change in SketchUp and I need to restart the program, I often have to restart it 4 or 5 times in order to use it. I create over the course of days and sometimes weeks. That has forced me to expediency over creativity as I can lose hours over the course of a model in restarts. That's why you see more renders and less complex models from me.

Anyway, here is something that is more of an homage to McCall or paperback book covers.

(I have no idea where the black margin on the right came from. In the render window, it doesn't exist. The frame ends exactly on the edge of the far right light beacon)

Updated. This is a lot closer to what I had in mind.

            Bryan,

Wow, do you mean that if you want to change anything in the model you are forced to restart Sketchup? What happens to the program when you try to make a change, does it freeze or what? This would drive me absolutely bonkers. I know less than nothing about troubleshooting SU (or any other program) but have you tried reinstalling it?

Your model is interesting, you come up with so many good ideas. Wish I had your imagination.

              Thanks Steve. πŸ‘

Yes, when I launch SU, it may or may not respond after loading. The entire interface will be showing, but I cannot select anything. Sometimes, I have to wait many, many seconds for a click to respond. Sometimes it will not respond at and I then have to force close it with Task Manager. When either happens I have to restart the program 1-5 more times before it starts responding properly.

I've had this problem for a couple of years now. My guess is I need a new PC with a better graphics card. My laptop is OLD. The last firmware updates were in 2015. There have been no solutions in any forums although others have experienced the same thing.

I am an I.T. pro and I've tried everything.
