In the beginning.

...there was an attempt to make a Gibson, Les Paul guitar with custom finish. Not sure if the edge of the body should be gold as it is now or black. I tried to get a decent flamed maple but nothing so far, this is a reasonable alternative imho. The reverse face is in t' mirror.
I am looking to have a very small room section with very simple lighting and a guitar stand but aside from a curtain drape of some kind I cannot see much point in over dressing. Thoughts on the edge colour?

Looking good.
There is never any wrong color on a guitar.

Thanks mate.

Great start

Ta mate, outlining the scene in my mind so when I have finished the git tar, I should be able to run with it.

Update on the model.

WHOA!
-
Thank you, getting there.

and the Lord Said, "Let there be Les. And there was Les. The the Lord saw it was Good. In fact..it was awesome."

Thanks, I am heading towards a rippled curtain and a window with the only light coming from that, a mirror against the wall to catch the reverse image. Have to be a corner then..... It could have been worse, a penalty perhaps?

Looking good !
-
Thank you.

I think I am ready for the scene at this point. Any suggestions for the string texture? It's there, ish.

Current version looks pretty good to me but that is somewhat dependent on how close up up show the model. If you are going to include the guitar in a scene where it is kind of distant a more detailed material may complicate the render process to the point that it is not worth it. JMO

Thanks, yes the idea is to be pretty close in. Possibly DOF too. The chair will be a winged back Chesterfield armchair.
-
Very, very convincing Mike
-
Thank you, just trying to keep up with you guys.

Beginning of the scene.
-
That's going to look great.

Thanks mate but, I hate it. The scale of the chair and the mirror make it look like something from Land of the giants or something. My next thought is a session room after the music is done. A full size Gibson is about 18 inches.
