Suddenly A Print Issue
-
Hey Folks,
I've been using SU through lots of generations and enjoy it. Now I using the free version of SU v17. All has be good until recently.... It only will print in red ink.
My furniture drawings are 'build-out' only, nothing fancy. I use a HP Ink Jet Envoy printer. Only my SU drawings print in red. All other doc's are OK.
Any suggestions....?
Mike

Well, clearly SketchUp 2017 Make hasn't changed so you'd need to look at what has? Graphics drivers? Print Drivers? Out of ink? This can't suddenly be a SketchUp bug.
Please update your profile. It still says you are using SU8.

Dave R,
Thanks for the advise. I'll try using a generic printer driver for SU. I'll update my profile.
See Ya,

Good luck.
As for printer drivers, SketchUp looks at your default printer for that.

Dave R,
Big-10/4 on the driver. Came to find out today that one of my 'aftermarket' ink jet cartridges was kaput. I have new ones coming tomorrow.
Man,,,, these ink jet printers are certainly convenient, but the ink is outrageous.
Thanks for the assistance....
Mike
Oh, gonna update my profile as you suggest.....

Brought to mind when I was about 15 my mom asked me to look at her electric dryer because it quit working. I got my dad's multimeter and appropriate tools so I could disassemble it. Checked everything and couldn't find anything amiss. I told my mom that everything seemed to be fine. She asked if I'd checked the fuse in the fuse box. The fuse was black on the inside. I figured she'd already done it so I didn't check that. Put the dryer back together and replaced the fuse and all was right with the world. Big lesson learned that day!

My mother called out the fridge repair man(way back when such a thing was possible), at huge expense, he kindly pushed the plug in for her before writing the bill for the minimum 3 hour call out.

Some years ago when I was still working on anesthesia and respiratory equipment I got a phone call from someone saying they couldn't get the oxygen to flow no matter how far they opened the flow control. They said the oxygen supply hose was connected and they'd tried the backup cylinder with no luck. I asked if the anesthesia machine was turned on. I heard the machine turn on before the person on the other end hung up without saying another word.

We could continue on and make this the longest thread ever... but I think not as I'm busy finding the boxes my computer came in.
-
And then there's the tale of a customer service rep handling a call from a person who said their computer wouldn't turn on. They had the customer verify that the power switch was on - yes. So they next asked whether it was plugged in. The customer said "I don't know, I can't see back there". The rep asked why, and the customer said "well all the lights are out because the power failed".
-
That story continues Steve, to the rep asking if the person has the boxes his computer came in.
Yes, he says, is it that bad?
Yes take it back to the shop you bought it from and tell them you are too stupid to own a computer.Right, back to hunting for my boxes.
