Going 2D
-
Hi all!
As some of you know I lost my job this spring after a period of too little work coming in to the company.
Now while I'm trying to find a new job I decided to try to fulfill a dream to create a picture book. It's been very refreshing not working in 3D and instead go crazy with perspective in 2D.
Here are a few of the images so far.
Drawn on Ipad and some postwork in Photoshop.
What do you think? -
I'm sorry to hear about the job, I hope that gets sorted soon. The artwork is, and I do not want to blow smoke anywhere, bloody marvelous. You just might have hit on a career move. If so I hope it works for you beyond getting some money in between jobs.
You rock mate.
-
Thanks. That means a lot.
-
I agree with Mike -looks reallygood.
Sorry 'bout your job.
-
Cuty!
-
Sorry about your work situation, hope something comes up soon.
Love the drawings, is that your family? -
Good grief, those are top notch, great work mate!
-
as one 2D-er to another. . .Love the drawings. Very Nice--great style and technique. I love drawing on the ipad as well.
Hope this turns into something wonderful for you. -
Sorry to hear about the job situation but the drawings are really neat.
Just curious about what software you use n the iPad and hope it leads to something new.
-
Thanks guys.
Yeah itβs kind of our family when our daughter was a baby. She had quite a volume to her voice and the book is about having a baby that sounds a lot.I would love to have a big iPad Pro but I only have the ordinary iPad with Apple Pencil.
I sketch and ink in an app called Infinite Painter. Wow, the best one Iβve tried.
So intuitive.
Found it by accident in a YouTube clip here:Infinite Painter currently doesnβt support A3 size with multiple layers so for the full spreads I did the inking and painting in Sketchbook pro.
In the autumn he will upgrade the graphics engine In Infinite Painter to metal and take care of that memory limitation hopefully.
Additional effects and such was made in Photoshop on the PC.
I also did some brushstrokes with Procreate. -
hi Jan,
Sorry to hear about the job loss. i sincerely hope something turns out soon for you! you are a real talented guy and an inspiration!
love the style of illustration.. i hope that 3rd image is not really something that happened in real life! -
He hee, no. It's actually the little girl chasing away the thiefs as they believe here voice is a police siren.
-
Your drawings are wonderful !!! Congratulations !!!
-
Top notch drawings! Very funny! With your obvious talent you should do well! The work will swing back.
-
I completely agree with every single comment above!
Sometimes it needs these kind of "fractures" (sorry, I canΒ΄t translate this better), which reveal even more potential of an already so very talented companion here. Wonderful work Pixero! - and the thing with the siren-voice I already suspected -
Beautiful illustrations!
-
beautiful drawings!
-
Excellent Pixero!
Bad news about the work though - hope you've still got thea/SU licenses?!
-
Just to echo the consensus here Pixero: really fantastic work, and I love the style!
I have 2 grandkids (age 4&6) that I can see loving the story of a little kid with a huge voice that can scare away bad guys, especially with illustrations that are so engaging and expressive.
Great work, and good luck with the career shift.
