      Hi everyone.
I am using sketchup 2018 for MacOS. I am facing an issue with extension toolbars. Whenever i hover the cursor over an extension tool palette icon, it doesn't show any text, where as text appears when i hover the cursor over sketchup inbuilt sketchup tool palette.

For example, when i hover the cursor over Round Corner Tool Palette, it doesn't show which among them is for round corner or for bevel or chamfer. Its very confusing when it comes to larger tool palette such as JHS Powerbar or similar.
      Please help.

I have tried the tool bar options of SHOW TEXT and ICON as well. But it doesn't work.

As well as the command's main method runner, the defined command used in the menu and/or toolbar definitions needs to have various things defined as the code loads...
        small_icon
        large_icon
        tooltip
        status_bar_text
        etc
If some of these aren't defined in code then nothing shows...

          Sir,

How do i correct it. I am particularly talking about VRAY NEXT Plugin, JHS Powerbar. Few other 3rd party extensions are showing the text.

          Thanks

You need to get in touch with the authors, as the messages [if any] etc are hard-coded into their files...

In the Mac version of SketchUp, none of the tooltips in Tool Palettes for extensions work in horizontal configuration, even with the extensions that come with SketchUp such as Advanced Camera Tools and Sandbox tools. Large Tool Set and Solid Tools are exceptions to this as they have two columns of icons and don't flip betwen horizontal and vertical so the tooltips always work in those two.

The tooltips can work in vertical orientation, but only if you change to vertical then restart SketchUp. If you leave all your tool palettes vertical, the tooltips will work even after closing them and opening them in different SketchUp sessions. This is not a great workaround though as I'd prefer the long ones to be horizontal as my screen width is bigger than its height.

To switch to horizontal, drag the tool palette to the top of the screen. To switch to vertical, drag it to the left of the screen.
