Having a hard time using this plugin, trying to compare cut/fill with 2 terrains made from contours by sandbox. I can make the terrains, and put on a skirt, so they are solid groups, and group them with the correct group name. But I can't seem to get the skirts to line up. Does anyone know more precisely what it means that the "skirts must share a common edge"? Thanks in advance for any help.

It would be best to post his kind of question directly in the main thread for this tool.
However, let's look at you reported problems...

Since you haven't attached a SKP how are we to know why you can't get the 'skirts' to line up ?

Obviously to subtract one terrain from another requires them to have a common 'origin'.
Otherwise the results of the cut/fill won't be accurate...
The skirts' bases must coincide exactly...

The two 'skirts' should be properly overlapped - 'common-edges'.

The attached image shows it very simplistically...

Have you read all of the help pages/posts etc

Thanks for your guidance. Yes, I have done that reading and get the concept. I guess it is a problem that I am working from CAD with contour lines that cross the property line (which is at 0). I trimmed all the contours at the property line, but when the "from contours" makes the terrain, it is just slightly different, not exactly the same shape for as built versus existing, when I look in plan view. So I guess I need to enter z values around the edge of the park/property line. I will keep working. Thanks.
