How SketchUp´s tray system is structured?
-
Hi everyone, in the company we prepare the setup of about 22 SkUp 2019 installations together with the IT department. Since these workplaces are decentralized, this approach saves us a lot of manual work and makes later support so much easier.
So we determine where which data packages will be installed automatically. I'm talking about things like materials, components, plugin packages, etc. This works well because our IT people can even access user directories of course. My question is: Is there any preset file that regulates how SketchUp´s tray system is structured?

I believe the tray panel display state and position are held in the Registry on Windows installs. Look in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SketchUp\SketchUp 2019\Workspace. I'm not going to make any suggestion of copying that from one computer to another, though.

... thanks Dave, I feared something like this - thank you very much for your recommendation and I will certainly not play around in any Registrys

You're quite welcome. Maybe someone in IT will want to play with copying registry keys. Let them do it on their own computers, though. Not yours.

Could one of your IT people write a program that would adjust the relevant keys in the registry? You would be dependent on your decentralized users running said program.

... I will ask this from the professionals, but do not believe in a script from there - but if I learn anything new worth knowing, i will inform you here of course
