Creating relistic grass using vray fur

Im unable to render large portions of grass when i use vray 3.4 with fur tool it comes with. Every time i try it freezes. any suggestion on how to remedy this?

Turn on Level of Detail in the fur options. You might be asking a lot of your machine with such a large area.

that is already turned on. is it a case where i need to make adjustments to the default settings?

this is the area i need realistic grass and the other pic is the vray setting. which is default? im not sure what to adjust it to

Reduce the knots to a lower value, maybe 3-1 then you might tweak the too close grass using Photoshop , etc. if needed.
