      Hi Experts,

I am a new user of SketchUp 2018. I downloaded FlexTools (to use Component Finder) from https://flextools.cc/componentfinder/
and intalled it in SketchUp 2018.

But the FlexTools plugin cannot be loaded. Every time I start SketchUp 2018, I get the "Load Error" Messagebox, showing the following message:

      Error: C:/Program Files/SketchUp/SketchUp 2018/Tools/RubyStdLib/rubygems/core_ext/kernel_require.rb:54:in require' C:/Program Files/SketchUp/SketchUp 2018/Tools/RubyStdLib/rubygems/core_ext/kernel_require.rb:54:in require'

You should contact the FlexTools support people directly with this.

          As well as contacting FlexTools...
I am wondering if you have installed SketchUp properly...
Your error messages often refer to:
          C:/Users/Administrator/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2018/SketchUp/Plugins/...
Are you really running SketchUp as the system 'Administrator' ?
Or that just your normal Windows user-name ??
Either way requires SketchUp to be installed in the correct manner [it can also be 'Repaired']...

          Here is how...

Log in as your normal Windows user-name.
If SketchUp is open then close it.
Find the SketchUp installer's exe file - probably in your Downloads folder ?
          Select its icon.
          Right-click > context-menu > "Run as administrator"
          When prompted choose 'Repair'...
[If it's a fresh install choose 'Install']
When it completes restart SketchUp and see what happens.

Note that any custom user's plugins, settings etc should not be adversely affected by the 'Repair'.

You should always install using "Run as administrator".
Running the installer in any other way will often result in read/write permission issues, and untold and unpredictable weirdness later on...
Double-clicking the installer's exe file icon to 'Run' it is NEVER an acceptable way.
Being a normal-user - even if you have admin-powers [or even if you are actually the system administrator, which is not a recommended login for running any apps day-to-day]... will always require you to use "Run as administrator" when installing.

This installation methodology apples to any complex App - not just SketchUp.

          TIG

AFAIK you don't need to install Flextools to use Component Finder, it's available as a separate download / install.
