Today i want to show you this little buildung. Schrankenposten Wittenberge_13f.jpg
Traveling in Brandenburg, a state in the eastern part of germany, i found this buildung, in the city of Wittenberge, half way between Hamburg and Berlin. The buildung is standing near a former railway level crossing. The barrier hast to be closed manually by a gate keeper. The arrivinng train was signalled by bell signals. This type of building was quiite common on german railways in former days. This house was restored in 2014 and is now protected as a historic monument.

I took some photos oft the original. At home i counted the bricks. The common brick in that time was the „Reichsformat“ having this messaments 25 cm x 12 cm x 6,5 cm. With this informations i could easily create the modell. I didn‘ t use a brick texture. For a 3d effect every brick is drawn by hand (copy an paste). The gap between the bricks was pushed back with the push pull tool. I took this effort, to get a printable modell with visible brickwork.

The render was done with simlab Composer 7 (demo).

Last weekend i visited Wittenberge again and took some fotos of the original location. I stiched the fotos to one panorama. I put a big arc to the scene and used the panorama as texture.

                  Schrankenposten Wittenberge_16b.jpg

I added some humans from the 3dwarehouse and a free train from turbosquid ( https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-diesel-locomotive/786001 ). The train is romanian. To look more „german“ i adjusted the colours and changed a few details (e.g. spooked wheels, backlights).

                  Schrankenposten Wittenberge_16d (2) (FILEminimizer2).jpg

                  Schrankenposten Wittenberge_16b (3) (FILEminimizer2).jpg

                  Schrankenposten Wittenberge_16c (2) (FILEminimizer2).jpg

The render was done with Twilight renderer (hobby). Is there a way to use the panorama as background with the enviroment editor?
