Hi, I want to report a bug in value control box.

Normally when creating a rectangle or square, I would type in the values separated by a COMMA (,) in value control box to specify my measurement. Example: For a 100x300 rectangle shape, you will type in 100,300.

However, this comma doesn't work in my other workstation, and took me a year to figure out! (I accidentally observed the value control box while doing a rectangle and the preview values display semi colon instead of the normal comma). So I figured out that the Sketchup in this particular PC only accepts SEMI COLON (;) as separator, no wonder the comma won't work. Example: For a 100x300 rectangle shape, you will type in 100;300. Weird isn't it? I'm using same Sketchup 2018 pro.

I suggest, play around with the rectangle tool, and the first time you hit mouse button (starting point of rectangle)- values will be displayed automatically corresponding to your mouse movements, and notice the values separator, it may be comma, semi colon or something else. I hope this helps.

I tested in my 3 PC, only one have this issue.

All PC's have same region and keyboard/language input (US layout). Only difference is OS.

      PC 1- Win 7 Pro - Sketchup 2018 Pro - comma worked
      PC 2- Win 8 - Sketchup 2018 Pro - Semi colon worked
      PC 3- Win 10 - Sketchup 2018 Pro - comma worked

For now, I will regard this as a Sketchup bug.

Hope Trimble can help fix, Thanks!

This is not really a 'bug'...

PC users split into two camps, those in the US/UK/AU/NZ/SA/etc who use a Stop . for the decimal separator and those from the EU/Asia/SouthAmerica/etc who use a Comma , as the decimal separator.
        Entering combo-numerical values needs a list-separator: so . decimal users will need a , and the , decimal users will need a ; [Semi-Colon]

A user's PC will have 'Regional' settings, specifying what decimal point type to use etc.
However, it's possible to override the system settings and in an otherwise . decimal setup to reset it to a , !
If you or someone with access to your PC has changed this, then confusion reigns as you now need to type , for a decimal point and a ; as a separator !

On a PC you have a Control Panel - it's name varies with OS version, called something like "Region and Language"...
Here there will be settings for all manner of things like date/time/number-formats, and e.g. what decimal-point type to use ./,
