    Hi everyone,

Could anybody please direct me to somewhere that I can learn how to edit the terrain once you have created it in Sandbox. I have googled and you-tubed, but have not managed to find what I’m after. I understand the way to create a terrain from contours, but once I need to put my house on the terrain, I am struggling to edit the face correctly, for example: cutting the terrain to add retaining walls, battering the earth for a driveway to meet gradient requirements, cut & fill for building platforms at different levels etc. I suppose I’m after some sort of advance training on this.
    Thanks in advance
    Sam

PS I am a very visual person so any links to videos would be sooo much help

SketchUp's Smoove, Stamp and Drape tools are your friends for this.

They already have extensive docs on using these.

For additional terrain rework try Artisan or Vertex Tools.

Another great tool for terrain to be used instead of Sandbox for skinning is Fredo's Toposhaper.

A good start if you have not seen it is an older video by Daniel Tal on 3d basecamp. Daniel has produced a lot of SU teaching materials, much of it regarding terrain work. You can search his blogs, videos, and books. I can't find my favorite basecamp video right now.

Valiarchitects has some good tools if you are looking for plugins for roads, walls, and buildings. I also use Artisan and Vertex tools for this work.
