      Hi,

I have built a site model and imported a building I am working on as a separate model. When I set this up, the models were in the same positions yet suddenly when I reload the building model into the site model after making alterations, the building model appears in a different place. I tried to reposition the building model in its own skp file by copying a reference point from the site model file but it makes no difference. I recently used the follow me tool to create a hedgerow along the edge of the topo surface which produced odd results before settling down and wonder if this causer the problem. Could anyone possibly shed any light on this please?

How are you importing the model?

Just importing from the file menu as an skp file and then reloading as I update it.

I would try to Save As component to a file and compare it with the one you are using, paying attention to UCS difference...

Is it possible to use the "paste in place" feature in your case? I use this a lot to more efficiently work on a model outside of a larger/bulkier scene, or if a client updates a building (or a part of a building) I can just copy and "paste in place" their model back into my overall scene (assuming they didn't move the building or part from it's original location).

For me Save as component (once you've set it where it goes in the master model)works well. .. as noted above. Just be aware of anything you do with the axes for that component.
