      Hi everyone!

I've got a big issue with proxy object with vray 3.4

if i import a vrmesh file (for example a tree) i can see in the material editor the different color apparently assigned to the proxy object, but if i try to start a preview render, this one appears completely white, without material or color assigned. even if i add the texture to each color the tree appears always white, without any color o material assigned. if i turn on the material Id channel, the object doesn't appear. so, i think the material are not actually assigned 😐

i tried with downloaded proxy and new proxy created by myself. i have always the same problem.

      i use SU 2017 and vray 3.4

      what can i do??

      Thanks!

        Hi,

This is a huge issue with the new vray 3 for sketchup. Proxies are buggy! Chaosgroup is working on a hotfix, that they promise will be released "shortly".

Chaosgroup send my colleague this temp. workaround:

"In the meantime, as a temporary workaround, simply open the proxy component in edit mode, then select the object and apply the Multi material to it."

I hope Chaosgroup will do an update that will allow you to import proxies made in 3ds directly into SU, and the materials will apply automaticaly as they were in 3ds. But that might be wishfull thinking...

        Best regards.

I had a similar issue was able to resolve by placing the MultID material directly to the proxy faces of the component.

Same problem here, didn´t work applying the material to the component. Does anyone knows any other fix?

This is how I was able to make it work, hope it helps.

Just copy the imported .vrmat settings to the proxy material.

                      Solution:

                      1. Select laubwerk three proxy in your model.

                      2. Click on Laubwerk editor

                      3. Remove materials

                      4. Import V-ray materials

                      5. Repeat all steps for all laubwerk proxies.

                      6. Save SU model

                      7. Render your scenes.

                      This work with SU2019, V-ray 4.0.2, Laubwerk player 1.0.29
