2017 re-sizing pdfs

I have tried bringing in a pdf in Sketchup 2017 and then using the measuring tool to measure a component which usually prompts the model to ask if you want to resize. This prompt box doesn't come up and a construction line is just placed on the model. I had to come out of 2017 and go back into 2016 to get the pdf re-sized to the correct dimensions and then bring the model back into 2017. Please fix!

Strangely they changed the default setting of the Tape tool in 2017. Tap ctrl before your first click and it toggles the guide off and the resize will work.

Is it changed by default? Mine works as before and resizes from activation. Maybe it store last tool selected?

On an endpoint it is the same, but from the complaints I've read it is different on a face. I actually don't have any earlier versions to check with at the moment.
