What file format are you exporting from Rhino to import into SketchUp.

If it's real Nurbs (3dm) you can import to Moi3D and export to Sketchup as SKP!
If it's real Polygons (also 3dm) that will not work to Moi3D!

From looking at the Rhino online help files, it doesn't appear there are any options for controlling how geometry is handled for making components in Rhino's export options. If you really have to use the Rhino model I would suggest moving the doors and other parts away from each other so there is space between them. Then you can go through the imported file and easily select the appropriate geometry to make components.

I expect it would actually be easier to just draw the cabinet over in SketchUp because you could make use of components in an efficient way.

I think you would be wise to just spend some time learning SketchUp and then draw your cabinets and other woodworking projects in it. That would be better use of your time than drawing in Rhino and fixing it in SketchUp.

Dave,i did play with rhino for few years now, just for me,for fun,for some woodworking small projects,it is just a hobby,i want to make my self a closet,i do need for that a diagram for the parts to by cut, that diagram is to be make in "cutting optimization" (program) it have a special plugin for SU,in stead for Rhino(better for me).
So i model in rhino, export to SU (skp),bot the cutting optimization plugin for SU only recognize components or groups, and there is my problem......

My suggestion is to skip Rhino. Draw the model in SketchUp making each piece you'd cut out of wood (or MDF, plywood, etc.) a component. You can do all of the detailing in SketchUp and then use the resulting model for your sheet optimization. You can see the process of drawing a project made of sheet goods here.

As I already wrote, I think you'll find your time better spent if you do that instead of trying to repair your Rhino model in SketchUp to make it usable.

Most of the things I draw in SketchUp are woodworking projects and I know it's much easier to draw things correctly than to fix things that aren't right. It's exactly the same as building projects for real.

Maybe you can use the same trick than from MOi to Sketchup! πŸ˜‰

If you have yet different group inside Rhino
Export as 3DS format ! (if its existing)
                            Import inside Sketchup
Explode one time inside SKetchup : you have all your different groups! πŸ˜‰

thx Pilou,i allready did that in rhino making every element a block, export it as skp, open it in SU exploded 1 time as u said and this is it,bot to many operations, and loosen time for an easy job like that i think.

You could have drawn the model in SketchUp from nothing in the time you've spent screwing around trying to get it out of Rhino.

You must export as format 3DS! (if Rhino has it )

In MOi3D export as 3DS format permit to keep the "Group(s)" inside Sketchup! 😎
export as SKP don't permit that!
