We are finally getting close to having one finished.
How he looks tonight with just a work light.

Once again been too busy to post lately but finally getting close to the end.
Quite a few technical bits and lighting etc to come so it will be another month or so until they are on site and properly visible.
But here they are just before the last 200 kilo block it fixed on the second one, basically making them finished.
They are almost impossible to photograph in this situation as the surroundings seem to suck the light out of everything. But in real life they are quite something.

                Paranormal!

We should do a case study on this if you're up for it?

Show how you went from SU concept to reality. It'd be amazing

Nice idea Rich, but maybe we could do it on one that is a little less complex. I'll be doing some that will be far easier to document the files and reality after this one. This has been 2 years in the making and a great deal of the R&D and changes in technical design decisions have been swallowed up in a pint glass or three.

It would be interesting to see a case study, not the usual or run of the mill for sure. Nicely done to you all Box.

It is something of a nerve racking day today. But so far so good.

The lifting frame looks to be a work of art on its own, what could possibly go wrong.

Cost an arm and a leg for fabrication, not to mention engineering sign off. But it was all done in SU and the metal worker was happy that way.

Here we go, the second one reaching its final position. First one in the foreground.

Been following this throughout the process.

Really fascinating how it evolved, and all the material and design challenges that had to be addressed (the lifting frame being but one example). Totally impressive all the way around. Looking forward to seeing pics of the completed installation.

Congrats on making it to the end?!

It might be a while before we have finished photos. There is a bit of on site work needed to complete them and they have been enclosed to keep them from public view until the opening. Plus we have a bit of an issue with one of them that may necessitate it's return to the studio for some serious remedial treatment. On top of that, the things are almost impossible to photograph. Too many reflections.
