      Hello,
I'm contacting you because I'm having a problem with SketchUp 2016. For about three weeks my sketch has had a number of bugs. Every time I open any file the SketchUp suddenly close alone, or lock and then close, or happens the bug splash. I have searched the Internet and found nothing like that. I've uninstalled the program and installed it again, already installed the 2015 version, already uninstalled all plugins, and already disabled the OpenGL accelerator. I do not know what I can do.

      Below my computer settings.

      • Windows 8.1 64Bitz
      • Video card dedicated 2G (Nvidia)
      • Intel Core I7
      • Memory Ram 8G

I have this machine about 1 year and a half and she always rolled Sketchup normally only this past month who started these constant problems.

Does anyone have idea what can be?

      Best regards.

Have you updated to the latest version of the Graphics Card ?
Have you recently installed new extensions/plugins ?

Try adjusting the Preferences > OpenGL settings and see if that helps.
Switch off Hardware Acceleration first to side step the GC.
If that helps try again with it back on but with some other settings 'off'...

If it is GC related then you could try using the Device Manager and rolling back to an earlier GC driver version.

Also double check on the GC website that you have the latest GC driver installed...
It can check you current GC and driver automatically and offer a download of any update.
After you get the installer you must install it using, 'run as administrator'.
Check it's Control Panel and ensure SketchUp is listed as an app and it is set to allow 3d apps to decide on settings.

Another possible issue is that you did not install SketchUp initially as an administrator - that's not the same as having admin rights.
You could look at uninstalling SketchUp from the Programs and Features Control Panel [any license, plugins etc should stay safe]... then find the SketchUp installer exe [or download a new up to date copy].
Right-click its icon to get the context menu and choose 'run as administrator'...
Now you are set yo go...

if currently running the SUP 64-Bit version you may want try, if swapping to the 32-Bit version fixes the issues.

                Hello,
I would like to say thanks for the help they gave me. Luckily I managed to solve the problem. I tried all the options and that really worked was, uninstall and install the 32Bitz version. I can't find much logic in it, once my computer is 64Bitz, but what matters is that it worked.

                Best regards

the 64-Bit OpenGL stack of the used video driver is faulty, therefore using the 32-Bit version of SU and its 32-Bit OpenGL API calls helps.

If ever buying something new, go for a dedicated nVidia GeForce GTX series.
