Open Sketchup in Perspective View
-
Is there a way to set SU to open in Perspective view?
Whenever I open a new file or an existing file (even when saved in perspective view), it always opens in Parallel Projection. -
The "New" file could be due to the way your default stationery is set. But existing file issue is a problem. Shouldn't do that. Only thing I'd think of is a plugin that's doing it. Or some key shortcut (or somthing?) which is triggered when you open the file and calls up Parallel Projection.

To use more standard terms, your default Template determines the initial camera (and other properties) used for a new model.
The second thing you describe is puzzling, though, as a saved file should reload with the same view as when saved.

As slbaumgartner says, it is surely due to the camera setting and view in default template selected. Change the view as needed and save as a new default template or choose a different template from the existing ones.
I moved this from the Bug Reporting forum because this is not a bug.

I already created a default template with the desired views but it still opens up in PP mode.

Maybe not a Sketchup bug, but it might be something in the lines of pbacot suggested.
