Using the external editor when amending a texture

when I use Photoshop to amend an external editor and then save the .jpg where does it get saved to?
(I am using a Mac)

Just as on a PC, on a MAC it goes into your user 'temp' folder...
~/temp
To access it from the Finder, use Command-G (Shift-Command-G in Mavericks ?) and enter
/tmpin the dialog.From the Terminal, use
cd /tmp -
