Twinmotion 2016

Here is a new trailer for twinmotion 2016
i love the new features speically point cloud and the new landscape painting system and the google earth integration.. and twinmotion people are very nice to unlike its competitor lumion staff that will come at you like you have stolen something or done something wrong if you i asked any question and you don't have a license.
PS i don't know if this is the right forum to post it. -
I have tried their trial version, absolutely loved it! thanks for sharing this new version preview. If only I had the money and customers to justify buying this software I would. IMO this is one of the best animation softwares fully compatible with SU (Unreal I'm looking at you now)
-
Agreed its the best out there for animation. they have so many good features that no one has and what i love about it is its interface not complicated and give you so many advance features
-
and this a video from twinmotion thailand. i just love it. its great to see this result.

I had no Idea this even existed.
I am pretty sure this will be under the Christmas tree for me this year. Dear Santa, ...
I am a bit stunned,is it too good to be true?

I'm on the same page as you, Paul...
Not sure what rock I've been sleeping under, but this sure looks great! But my oh my... The price...
1650 EUR... -
For those of you that didn't know about Twinmotion before here is a very short resume:
Twinmotion was actually released before Lumion and LumenRT and there was a REALLY big hype before release when they put out weekly teaser trailer movies. They marketed it as "The rendering killer". Looked so good and everyone was ectatic.
Then the release came and they told us the price
(I think it was $2,990) and the interest died almost instantly.(At least initially, Lumion had a fair price, but it has been raised significantly since.)
Now I believe they have a new owner(?) and they were present at the London Basecamp.
(I didn't watch their presentation as there was other interesting things going on at the same time.)My feeling is that they could have owned the real time visualisation market if they had priced their product better when they had their moment in the spotlight.
-
From what i heard was that it was in house software for an architectural company and they were developing it. Now abvent is developing it and its coming out good. one thing i don't like is their forums are Dead.
-
Initially I think it was inhouse but that was when it was in "beta".
-
i really think the future lies with these real time render engines....
if only Unreal would come out with an 'ArchViz' optimized version of their game engine!!!! even if it costs a few hundred bucks I wouldnt mind! -

1650 EUR...Yes, it is spendy...here is how I justify such an expense even if it would not immediately "make money" for my business.
- its tax deductible. (my wife rolls her eyes when I say that)
- The price keeps many people (competitors) from using it so the market for me is larger.
- Would only take a couple / few projects to offset the cost.
- ummm... it looks fun and I want it!
If in doubt, ignore 1 through 3 and go with 4
-
-
- We can get Paul to do our projects!
-
Twinmotion 2016 and Lumion 6 came out on the same exact day. Competition much???
-
Warring brothers!

Not in english but still worth a look. -
I know this video but i really don't understand anything from it.
I know this is a never ending discussion but i still can't make a pick between twinmotion ore lumion.
It would be lovely if he could explain it in English.

I tried making presentation of my current project with Twinmotion 2016. It was easy with good results. The only small problem when importing from SU was some components-groups scaling. But it was fixed by exploding and grouping them again...some material setup (too much reflection by default) and camera settings for more natural look...and I had interactive VR with stereo 3D option and animated cats and trees and skies and pool water out of the box! It is a good start, but the quality of render is not enough for my taste (especially when compared to Thea output). New Lumion 6 looks much better, but there is still no trial to check it in practice. Here is the example. Note - Twinmotion image was originally 3840x2000 and it took about 15sec to render it. Thea image is in original size rendered, and it took 20min. Both images was corrected.

Srx, your image looks good to me. Get the glass to actually reflect the environment and I'd prefer that image
I'm a Lumion user, the one thing that stops me from switching to Twinmotion is that their forums are completely dead, there's basically no community there at all.
