SU 2015 fails 100% of the time to import a .dae collada file.
However, we tried it on SU 8 and had no problems importing textures and all.
If anyone has any ideas please help.

      -Thanks,
      DC

This kind of error has been reported before...

Some DAE files can be poorly made.
Earlier versions of SketchUp imported them, perhaps sometimes missing geometry - in those examples it produced an error report.
With newer SketchUp versions it either missed out lumps of geometry or failed - BUT no error reports...
The original bug-report is still open...

Meanwhile you can of course import it in v8 and then open that SKP in a newer version...

          Thank You for the response,

Do you know where I can get full copy of SU 8? The 4hr free trail is running out for us. Or is there another way to get .dae files into SU 2015?

For context here is our work flow,

Build in SU- Texture in 3ds or Maya-Export as .DAE and light with Shaderlight in SU.

          Thanks,
          DC

SketchUp v8 is not going to be supported in just a few days time [20th May?].
So get it NOW ! http://help.sketchup.com/en/article/60107

            Or is v2013 a contender ?
            Try here... http://www.sketchup.com/download/all

Other sites do offer even older versions, but as to them being kosher... up to you...

you may have more luck exporting as 3ds and use 'assimp' from Terminal.app to convert to dae...

learn from the mistakes of others, you may not live long enough to make them all yourself...
