I wrote this tool a while ago after discussions with Dave R http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=TIG_ComponentDescriptor It adds extended Descriptions to Component Definitions - either to 'All', or to just those currently Selected.

      This has many uses…

For example, in the newer versions of Layout you can use the Tag tool to add a
clicked-on Component's Description in a Tag - and of course if this has the additional data
inserted, then you do not need to manually edit it, which would have in turn meant that
you had lost its connection back to the SketchUp Model.

Use the 'More Info' button in its PluginStore entry for details.
An extended explanation can be found in the Plugin's 'Help' PDF file...
Which I have also attached here...

Thanks for writing this TIG. It is incredibly useful for me anyway. It makes adding labels in LayOut incredibly fast and painless.

By the way, I did get to test it and it works perfectly.

Thank you again, TIG. This is a big time saver.

I am doing a bedside cabinet design using TIG's Component Descriptor extension to show mesaurements in my exploded views.
I noticed for several of the components the measurements in the components descriptor field were incorrect. I checked the components and noticed the componet axis was not on a corner but somewhere between corners. After changing the axis to a corner, selecting and processing again, the descriptor measurements were correct. Tedious process.

One stubborn component, even after axis change, did not change to the correct measurements which should be 3/4" x 1 3/4" x 1 3/4". The descriptor shows it as 3/4" x 3/4" x 1 3/4"
I saved the component to a separate .skp and it still behaves the same. See attached skp file. Any help is appreciated.

                    https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=TIG_ComponentDescriptor
It fixes the glitch with LWT sorting / reporting when two dims match - it is also signed...
