This weekend I've started to model a tramway of my hometwon.
I've used a 3D Scan for the complicated frontpart.

Nice!

Efficient result!

Looks really good! Cut from reality.
Last time I used MeshLab was after a 3D scan of a cave.
-
How did you clean up the scan geo? It looks really great!
-
I doubt he cleaned it, he just used it for the guidelines.
What kind of scanners are you, guys, using ? -
Nicely done! A subject close to my heart.
-
The scan was taken with 123dcatch. I used it for the guidlines. Then I used soap bubble skin to fill it and give the bubble. A fast and good way to get the right proportions, even if you don't have good blueprints.

It really looks great.

Wow! Those last two shots are the best.
-
and an daylightshot

Impressive. The overhead structure is a nice addition. Particularly like the second to last one.
Is it possible to create an ever-accumulating fog over distance within an object or object material? Perhaps through a series of planes? If it is possible, seems like a potential way to create the background fade present in your last image.
