Skatter
-
Just wondering if you guys have seen this new scatter plugin for Sketchup?
Looks incredible, wish i'd had that a few years back before I learned 3DS Max.
-
It's in testing and it's insane!

I use 3dsmax when I need these features (with forest pack).
But I just love Sketchup for modeling, that's why I'm developping Skatter : I want the same features inside SU. -
If Kerky, what about Twilight?
-
WOW! Finally something like ForestPack in SU!
But what does "Skatter supports βonlyβ V-Ray, Thea, and Kerkythea." mean? It seems to be based on components, so what's the problem with different render engines? To include functions to access the material system for variations?
I would be interested in Maxwell support... -
This means that for now only Vray, Thea and KT support the "Render only" feature. If you choose to generate regular components, it works with every render engines.
-
Ah ok. The "render only" feature means that they are not displayed until you press render?
So if i use Maxwell MXS-References, which are normal bounding box components in SU, this will work? -

Yes.

You can scatter them as any other component. But the "Render only" feature requires stuff to happen on Maxwell's side. Which doesn't for now.
-
Ok. Is there an option to reduce the percentage of displayed objects for the viewport?
-
Not yet.
-
Would be a very useful addition, i think
Great plugin! Waiting for the release. -
