The end of SU 8
-
I have now received a notice that SU 8 will not longer have direct 3D Warehouse access along with several other feature.
Here is the list:

◦Clicking the Get Models... toolbar button.
•Accessing Add Location by using any of these methods:
◦Clicking File > Geo-location > Add Location...
◦Clicking Window > Model Info > Geo-location > Add Location…
•Accessing Photo Textures by using any of these methods:
◦Clicking Window > Photo Textures.
◦Right-clicking on a face and selecting Add Photo Texture... from the menu.
•Accessing Generate Report by clicking File > Generate Report....
•Claiming credit in a model by clicking Window > Model Info > Credits > Claim Credit.
•Viewing login status in the status bar – located in the lower left corner of the drawing window. The status will say "Service is not available. Try again later."I have downloaded 2014 as 2015 will not work on my PC at this time and upgrading my PC will take days if not weeks due to drivers and updates of all the programs I use. I do not have the time at present.
My question is will 2014 Pro default to Make after the trial period runs out. If not, where can I get version 2014 Make? That is the last version capable of running on my PC.
Also, what will I need to do to carryover all my plugins?
Thanks.

Hi Bryan,
SU PRO will not convert to Make after trial. You can download the MAKE 2014 version here e.g.: http://forums.sketchup.com/t/how-to-get-the-sketchup-make-2014-version/8539/17
Here you can view the solutions overview from Trimble:

Thanks Cotty. Downloaded.
I'm trying to stay up-to-date as much as possible so 2014 Make is the solution I wanted.
How do I make sure my old plug-ins work?
-
Finally able to load plugin store but it will not connect. Unable to install plugins. Other times it defaults to SU 8 and then I get strange error messages.
-
I figured it out. The Extension Manager will still not connect, but I was able to finally determine where the folder was I needed to copy the plugin files from SU 8 to SU 2014.
They all seem to be working.
-
Nope. Still have problem. Now getting error message on start up that all plugins have failed to load.
After clearing message, some plugins work and some don't.
-
Resolved. Thanks to "driven" (john)
Had to download the updated Extension Manager from the plugin store and then reload each extension one by one. I have most of everything I use back and working.

@Bryan K
My 1st rule is: never change a running system.
unless the system doesn´t work.ok you can´t download models via SKP8.
if you can download models via webbrowser, go this way..the same way for extensions.please keep in mind, that any modeler safe the models in SKP13/14/15 format.
some mod´s provide SKP8 or KMZ.keep in mind, too that many Dev´s provide only higher versions than SKP8.
i understand your upset about this, however the technology progress will never stop, not in sketchup or Windows/MacOS etc.
I have an older ipad and the sketchup viewer doesn´t work on iOS6. now what i have do?
i have search an app that will running on iOS6 and show my sketchup models on ipad. i have now find this app.
i have had SKP8 and now SKETCHUP MAKE 2015.
What i have do: i have safe the complete SKP8 folder in an RAR Archive on a second drive.
after this i have installed SKP Make 2015.
keep in mind that all SKP files will start now this Version, your old SKP-Files,too.in SKP13/14/15 you can safe in SKP8-Format (Save As...-> Dropdown Menu).
now i unpack the old SKP8-Folder on the second drive. i have start this and this work, too.
normaly you must not go this way. the reason is..the old SKP8 is in a google folder and the new sketchup is in the sketchup folder.
why i have had go the first way?
i was a little bit angry that the new installer overwrite my old SKP8 installation.now copy your components and materials from your old SKP8 to SKP15.
look in your plugin folder, what plugins you have installed (DONT COPY THIS IN YOUR NEW PLUGIN FOLDER (C:/Users/YOUR_USER_NAME/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2015/SketchUp/Plugins/)
install the newest versions of plugins for SKP15 (some SKP13/14 plugins works, however if you find a SKP15 version of plugins, install ever this version.
if you find any old plugins dont install this plugins in the new plugin-folder. some old plugins produce error messages and frustration, too.
could be that trimble tell you an other way... this is normal. trimble don´t support SKP8 and trimble will sell the newest version. this is normal, too.
Edit: i have seen, that you have solve your problem.
ok i will keep this text above, for other users. could be its usefull.
