Visualizer 1.3 is now free.
There is a download link and new feature set description here:
http://www.getvisualizer.com/Here is an excerpt from the web page:
As part of Imagination Technologies’ longer term plans and investment to bring interactive ray-tracing to a mainstream mobile audience , we’ve decided to focus the Visualizer development team’s expertise on helping us bring a new generation of graphics chip technology to market. Unfortunately, there’s so much to do we’ve had to do this at the expense of ceasing all further development of the Visualizer product line.
Our final release 1.3 of Visualizer for SketchUp is the most capable yet, and we think every one of our thousands of Visualizer fans will want to use it. We have no plan for further changes to Visualizer for SketchUp beyond our 1.3 release.

Don't get the best results (for output) in Visualizer. Try ambient occlusion preset in Twilight. Pretty fast. I don't find the "live" interactive render in Twilight to be much better than just running one of the quick presets. Like Visualizer it's fun to see it updating but that's about it for me.

Had already downloaded Visualizer and played with it a bit - it's big advantage is just how simple it is. With no rendering understanding at all you can be up and running within a couple of minutes. The output isn't spectacular, but it's reasonable... especially given how no-fuss the whole process is.
The 'Visualizer is now free' announcement this week provided a good impetus to finally dip my toes into rendering —without investing any cash or time for the learning curve — but I already see where the limitations are... hence the interest in Twilight.
What seems cool about Twilight is that it has a lot more capability / power than Visualizer, but without adding all the complexity of the full-blown renderers. I hadn't realized that Twilight had a free version until seeing Rich's comment. Fast, free and capable sounds like a good combo!
Just downloaded it and looking forward to take it for a spin.
