I needed an elevation view of the flame finial I showed last week so I could put dimensions on it. This is an image made with just SketchUp and LayOut. No post processing at all. Well, I did crop it in an image editor but I didn't make any other changes.

ALL of it was drawn in SketchUp including the profiles. The lower profiles are actually made using a plane intersected with the 3D shape. The profiles for the flame portion is a Bezier curve drawn with BZ_spline.

I think JQL is referring to the layout overlay curves.

Or it means that I think that the model view has layout lines over it?

That's what I assumed he meant, too. The answer is still, "No." There are no lines created in LayOut. The profiles are direct out of SketchUp. The viewport in the LO file is still associated with its scene in SketchUp. I did set the weight to something higher in the SketchUp inspector window.

                      Thanks Dave!

After opening the hi res image I can understand it better. At first I thought the curve had angled corners but it has not, they're only possible with LO lines. The low resolution also doesn't show the segments on curves wich lines on LO also don't have.

                      One more question:

What raster settings did you use on the export? In full scale the anti aliasing is not great so I hope you used low settings. If not then something should get better on raster export.

Again, congratulations, it looks really good while being simple.

I just exported at medium quality. in the application for the image, it'll only be about 3-1/2 inches tall so the edges won't show.
