I have a civil engineering project and need to construct a breakwater which consists of several layers of rock. There are different cross sections along the length although the principle build up of the layers stays the same. So along the length of its path, either the dimensions of rock layers, angle of slopes, ground level etc change. These cross sections need to be connected and joined up and average out, is this possible at all? They need to become solids to know volume.

I have attached a simple principle over a straight line (but there are also curves that is almost impossible I think?)

      Thanks

It wouldn't be difficult to do that manually but you could use Fredo's Curviloft and it would work on curved pieces, too.

Box shows the manual way and I already gave you the name of a plugin you can use.

My goodness how simple...I must be thick...
The response time in here is incredible
                Thanks very much

I did download curviloft but had a lot of issues with "leakages" and was difficult to get solids.

Will try first before asking again...

the skin created by curviloft will be in it's own group.. if the surface is meant to be a part of a solid, you will need to explode the group (right click -> explode) in order for it to merge with the other pieces. when all pieces are merged at one, it will then be a solid (assuming there aren't other problems.. but curviloft itself isn't creating hole_y surfaces)
