In memoriam

I moved from the city into the country. I have a 70 acre piece of upper woodland forest in Ontario. I moved here to get away from a world out of control. I am off the grid and we (my family) are set up here to defend ourselves against very distinct threats. People selling religion and people selling medicine.
These things are aggressively threatening my freedom.
The collateral advantage of this adjustment is being able to turn off the media.
We are so happy to have found some peace and some truth, finally!
The world we were living in has neither. -

Hey, have heart, we are still a minority but hopefully these types of events will pound people into understanding that religion is "extremely" dangerous. These people are a peak into the advanced evolution of a religious mind. This is where all the doctrines will lead.

You're diverting this thread to something very ugly...likewise.. i get sort of bummed when any time people question the motives of a government, they so easily get thrown in the conspiracy theory nut job category.
it shouldn't only be our right to question the governments, it's our duty and it's the only way to keep a democracy healthy and/or in check.. but when the people who are actually questioning the government are so easily shamed by the majority (who, coincidentally don't question their govt), it leads to a very sick society in that the masses are inadvertently aiding corruption.
but hey.. here's a conspiracy theory
the term itself 'conspiracy theory' has been tainted by the conspirators or made into a buzzword for the masses to consume..9/11 events and the report has many many questionable holes in it.. should i question them?? nah.. it's just a conspiracy theory..
what time does the Simpsons marathon start again? -
There are too many facts to call all this a conspiracy theory...For example, there was no weapon of mass destruction which was a reason to attack Iraq in the first place! That means it was just a terrorist act of killing innocent people, not 12, but 133.000 of them! ("There are more than 133,000 individually recorded civilian deaths since the 2003 invasion of Iraq due to direct war related violence and tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians have been wounded."). Is bombing and killing in Serbia, or Iraq or Lybia or ... a conspiracy theory? No, it has really happened. I know about Serbia, I've seen it myself. Do you think it was right thing to do? Do you think that some people are less valuable than the others? Do you know what is the word for that kind of thinking?
Do not judge before you rethink it yourself, unbiased. Will you believe in every fairy tale TV serves to you (some of them are really like B movies) just to avoid being called stupid conspiracy theorist?
"It is a little-known though well-documented fact that the origin of the campaign to ridicule research into conspiracies was initiated by the CIA in 1967 to undermine the credibility of those who questioned the official claims of the Warren Commission regarding the so-called facts of the Kennedy assassination.
Given the challenge we and others feel when speaking out about conspiracies, I think Lance deHaven-Smith is right when, in his new book Conspiracy Theory, he suggests “the CIA’s [covert and illegal] campaign to popularize the term ‘conspiracy theory’ and make conspiracy belief a target of ridicule and hostility must be credited…with being one of the most successful propaganda initiatives of all time…”"

Police Commissioner Involved in Charlie Hebdo Investigation “Commits Suicide”. Total News Blackout
...
There has been a total news blackout.
The French media decided or was instructed not to cover the incident. Not news worthy? So much for “Je suis Charlie” and ”Freedom of Expression” in journalism.
Likewise, the Western media including all major news services (AP, AFP, Reuters, Deutsche Welle, etc) have not covered the issue. -

Have a good day. -
Or "the wall of free speech". Gilles, what do you think about this suicide? Doesn't it deserves front pages? Is it OK to hide it from the public?

numerobis's post made me sick
I hope I could speak better english to share my aversion, but I'm too weak ...
I don't understand how a man can watch an execution video and then see a watermelon exploded by an AK47 to compare the two reactions ... and then how can he decently say "i'm really no expert, but ..." ???
sick, sick, sick ...
Thank you to those who have managed to remain calm and respectful.
Please, please, please, if you're "really no expert", please, just shut your *** ...

The 'message' that I get is that extremism of all kinds must be rooted out and confronted with the real world. What is the real world? Well basically the world has a finite amount of the things we need and unless we want to fight each other all the time we have to learn that most fundamental lesson of childhood, sharing.
I even spotted a Buddhist monk saying that the slaughter of local Muslims was justified as SOME Muslims had killed SOME Buddhists. As a 'Trekkie' I really do not care what other people do in peace, it is the bovine around some power and influence crazed people getting others to kill for their INTERPRETATION of a faith or belief system.
Perhaps I am the dinosaur.
I just found a post in this very section of the forum and if there is anything to do for a faith this is it. This linked clip shows what any faith should bring us, joy.

There'll be more terrorist strikes, sadly. And there'll be more animosity towards muslims, and refugees, too. The European right is going to have a field day.
Europe needs to clean this mess up. Which means: military action in Syria and Iraq -bombings, boots on the ground, the lot. We need to act swiftly and ruthlessly. (Don't get me wrong, I'd much prefer peace -but I don't believe in turning the other cheek.)
That being said, violence won't solve anything in the long run. Syria, Iraq ... will have to be rebuilt, in more than one way. That'll cost time, money and patience. It is possible, though. Think of post-war Japan, and Germany.
And then there's the situation in Western Europe itself. We have to ask ourselves why so many youths of a muslim background turn to radicalism. Why is there so much unemployment amongst the ranks of young muslims? Why are so little of them getting a degree? And why is it we seem to be getting used to mutual racism and hatred?
Also, the Israeli-Palestinian thing needs to be sorted. There'll be no peace in the Middle-East as long as that sore keeps festering. If need be, we'll have to twist some arms, here and there.
There's something seriously wrong, and we need to fix it. We can fix it.

You mean like this https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/B23E0762A61177286026620809216_3035c05cf80.1.5.8175564427571340698.mp4?versionId=HsegzhG2LMV8T9WLgyDH_0Z9mIBFkaVI
The murders in Paris was of course tragedy for innocent people who has nothing to do with the scenario behind it, but it was and will be much bigger tragedy for 1000s of innocent people from "terrorist countries" when NATO "twist their arms". But it seems that they are not people for "civilized world". What a hypocrisy. All the people are made equal, aren't they? It is the same as the famous German rule in WW2: 100 innocent civilian Serbs killed for 1 German solder. "The war against terror" is just an excuse for doing terror. Good people, do not be fooled. Let the devil do it's job without your applause...
If you want to "fix" something, don't do it by bombing some far away country you know nothing about. Begin with what is closer to you - with your own mind for a start. One simple thing is enough - do you think that people all over the World have right to live? And to live their own way? Or you think you are so special and far more superior so they have to live your way? Sounds familiar?
Looking at the numbers this is the real terror-"The USA has terrorised all these countries since WW2, killing over 30 million civilians in the process:
Kóréá ánd Chíná 1950-53 (Kóréán Wár), Guátémálá 1954 ,índónésíá 1958 ,Cubá 1959-1961 ,Guátémálá 1960 ,Cóngó 1964 ,Láós 1964-73 ,Víétnám 1961-73 ,Cámbódíá 1969-70 ,Guátémálá 1967-69 ,Grénádá 1983 ,Lébánón 1983, 1984 (bóth Lébánésé ánd Syríán tárgéts) ,Líbyá 1986 ,él Sálvádór 1980s ,Nícáráguá 1980s ,írán 1987 ,Pánámá 1989 ,íráq 1991 (Pérsíán Gulf Wár) ,Kuwáít 1991 ,Sómálíá 1993 ,Bósníá 1994, 1995 ,Sudán 1998 ,áfghánístán 1998 ,Yugóslávíá 1999 ,Yémén 2002 ,íráq 1991-2003 (US/UK ón régulár básís) ,íráq 2003-présént ,áfghánístán 2001-présént ,Pákístán 2007-présént ,Sómálíá 2007-8, 2011 ,Yémén 2009, 2011, 2014 ,Líbyá 2011, íráq 2014-2015, Syríá 2014-2015 Ukraine 2013 onwards." -

Has anyone read the ISIS document they posted when taking responsibility for what happened in paris?
In a nutshell what they are saying is they are counting on the reaction to these terror attacks to incite the bigots into a knee jerk reaction, they are intending for us to turn against all muslims which in essence will just make it even worse. Now is not a time to be divided, it is a time to be united.
