Trying to Print To Scale

Hey again.

I've been trying to print my models out to scale for the last few months, and sometimes it works by luck.
Sketchup uses virtual measurements I realize, however, is there a way to print an image out on my printer and have it be according to a certain scale?
This has been stumping me for months!

It is indeed possible. It depends on the size of the drawing window, or more accurately, the proportions of the window. Make the drawing window length to height ratio close to that of the paper. There's a cool Viewport Resizer plugin from Julia Eneroth that makes it simple. You can get it from the SCF Plugin Store or Extension Warehouse.

You should then be able to set up to print at the desired scale.

Even better would be to use LayOut.

Ah, yes. I didn't check SM's platform. I didn't mention yours because I didn't know if it would be available.

Thank you for the response, however I am using Layout. I apologize for not including that in the original post. I've been using Sketchup and Layout for quite some time, though I'm still relatively unacquainted with many of Layouts functions and features.

There are quite a few steps, though they all are easy once you know. Did you:

Save a scene with Parallel Projection of your object in SketchUP.
Save the file.
Send to Layout.
In LO set a scale to your scene (model reference).
Use a template or setup the page size to your printer paper.
Check that the SU model reference is still in scale and the view has not beem modified.
Go to print the page.
Check that the page is set to print at 100%.

To test add dimensions in SU and in LO to compare in the print out.

If you can't get it to work, can you attach the attempt of simple SketchUp and LayOut Files here?
