    Hi guys,

Does anyone know a fast way to save vfb channels without having to wait for a full new render?

To clarify, I have a scene with lots of displacement, and the output is 3000X1500. But I want to make some tests with the Z-depth channel, play a little with it and see what gives me the best result.

The problem is, to get every new Z-depth, I have to wait for the full-time render (even though I turn of the RGB and Alpha Channel). Is there any way around it?

    Thanks a lot

You can turn off the RGB and Alpha channel and that saves you a little bit of time. But V-Ray still has to calculate the light passes in order to get those channels, so you wont save yourself a lot of time. In my tests its one or two seconds per minute. On larger renders over the course of hours this might be helpful, but I doubt it.
