[REQ] In and out of components
-
I would like a plugin that when activated opens the component(s) of the next object clicked, to raw geometry. Drills down nested components in one click.
I would like a command that closes all components at once, to none being open at all.
-
A type of edit mode and object mode.
Definitely a more productive workflow.

If I have nested components--especially if I want to view a complex scene to see final result, each closing of components gives SU a pause and sometimes it hangs up. So I am clicking the mouse (or close component key) like crazy. Same in double clicking to where I can work on an object, SU seems to falter on opening components half the time. clicking my way to RS injury.

But the native "Outliner" window already does that ?
Expand a nested 'tree', click on any nested container, and you are inside it, in an edit.
To exit the edit you just click the top of the tree [model].
How might a plugin differ ? -
I'm looking at a whole building. It's a component and all the parts are nested components and (don't tell Dave) groups--especially windows that might be nested components from the assembly down to the glass. I want to work on something I see. First approach I can double click and double click and watch redraws until I finally get to it; or I could use the Outliner.
Instead of the Outliner, with some plugin I wouldn't have to guess what component (might know but not always) or group (won't really know) the object is in. Wouldn't have to find it in the Outliner. Just pick plugin (key shortcut) and click face or edge: then ready to edit, no matter how nested it is. I would be inside whatever component that contained the entity.
