I recently installed SU2014 on a new computer. I installed SketchUcation Plugin Store, and most of my Plugins seem to be working fine.

BUT, I get the following Load Errors every time I start SU:

Error: #<LoadError: cannot load such file -- open-uri>

Can anyone tell me the cause, or how to fix?

      Please, and thanks!
      Dave.

Does ANYONE out there have a suggestion on how to resolve these load errors each time I start SU2014?

        TIG? ThomThom? Anyone?

        Please help...
        Dave.

Quick Update: It turns out that I only get the above Load Error when I double-click on the .SKP file directly to open it, in Windows Explorer.

If I open SketchUp first (from the Desktop Icon), without double-clicking on a specific .SKP file, I do NOT get the Load Error at all.

Hope this helps any trouble shooting.
          Dave.

            Never seen this before.
Just to remind some ways to find the reason of such load errors :

            • first thing to check : move all other plugins elsewhere, keep only Sketchucation plugin in SU plugins folder, do you still got the error ? if no try to put in place again other plugins to find the "disturbing" one.
            • are you sure you did not copy old plugin files from older version of SU to the SU 2014 plugins folder, and in particular extensions.rb or other SU tools rb files. bad versions of these files in Plugins could cause loading errors ?
            • did you installed some plugins with "additional plugin folders" ? some may not support it. In your case does not think its the case as your plugins seems to be at the right place, but just to check
              No other ideas
              Yours

We do have a known issue that if you launch SketchUp via an SKP file that is not on the same drive as where SketchUp is installed the Ruby engine isn't initialized properly.
We got that bug bagged and tagged.

Fantastic! This is exactly what's going on. I'm double-clicking to open the .SKP file from a Network drive, not my hard drive.

Thanks for catching this. Looking forward to the update!
                  Dave.

                      Haha, Thom! 😆

I have the same problem as Dave, so I'm glad to hear you know what it is.

There's a temporary .rb file that you put into your Tools folder - it avoids this issue for PC v2014M0.
                        Get it from here... http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=519331#p519331
When the next version v2014M1? is out the .rb will no longer be needed, and it will actually delete itself !
