Automatic face modification based on geometrical rules

I'm not sure how to explain what I'm looking for, but i'l give it a try.
Is it possible, or is there a plugin out there that can take a face/group/componentand transform it to a face that is still somewhat proportional and aligned to the original but has a specific amount of lines (for example 4) that between them form specific angle (for example 90Β°)?
In the example, the desired result can be simply sketched with the rectangle tool using the original shape as reference. But I'm looking for a way to automate the posses, for when it needs to be repeated multiple times on different faces

My first reaction is "Huh???"
However, if I think what you want is to reduce the number of segments in a "line" that borders a face, then maybe this will help.
If the "line" is a contiguous curve of some sort, then selecting the line will (may) show the number of segments, in Entity Info. If that segment count is NOT greyed out, then change the number (down) to reduce the segment count.
But no, there is no way to automate this over multiple faces.

Have a look at Fredo6's Curvizard, it wont make them squares but you can certainly get some good results/clean lines over multiple shapes using simplify contour or cleanup contour, have a go and see if it helps.
