Solid Snake in LightUp

Having fun with LightUp 3.2... (click to see it full size)
...wanted to see how it handled studio setups. 42secs later you could spin around and enjoy all the spec and bump of the model.
I had the pleasure of meeting the dev Adam at Basecamp and he really was a pure gent.
He even took the time to explain some of the finer points of using LightUp like a boss.

Lightup has come a long ways.
Very nice!

I played that game when I was younger...

I too have been playing with LightUp, gotta say it's a whole different product than version 1, lots of fun and fast.
-
Fast isn't the word.
What I find really intriguing about LightUp is that it is clever.
I love the zoning mechanic to reduce render times on large models.
-
THE selling points to me were:
- the lighting adds depth to the Sketchup model
- it's fully integrated in Sketchup: easy switching between evaluating and refining the design.
- LightUp doesn't calculate just a single image but calculates the lighting solution for the entire 3d model so you can evaluate / show the 3d design by walking around in the model.

Any chance you could share some of that wisdom?

That's pretty impressive Rich!
Funny I clicked into the lightup site just the other day to see how things are going there. Adam could use the likes of you guys to furnish the gallery. I've seen some amazing works from Sid using lightup but they don't seem to make it into the gallery!
