PIPE-ALONG-PATH SNAFU
-
Here is a simple path that Pipe-Along-Path ver 2.0 refuses to extrude, yet follow-me tool works. Not a big deal because this, again, is a rare occurrence.
-
The vertical line segment near the right end seems to cause a problem. Otherwise the plugin seems to work fine on the rest of the lines.
-
My Sketchup v8 copy of Pipe along Path ran it with no problems with 110mm outside, 100mm inside and 24 segments. I could not determine which version of Pipe along Path I have for v8, however. All of the corners seemed to miter appropriately.
ThomThom's Edge tools only highlighted the ends of the path.
I guess there's not much here for a solution... -
P.A.P. works if I tip the path on even the slightest angle - .001 degrees. Go figure.

Attached, please find an SU file containing a collection of un-extrudable paths within which you may find a clue that gives rise to this issue, albeit an infrequent one.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have checked the code and added an improved trap for very slight skewing in a path edge.
It still warns if the skew is ~<0.3 degrees, but a Bugsplat is unlikely.
The sample paths now extruded OK [two warned about a 'slight skew' but they worked OK anyway], except for one - which had very tight bend relative to the radius - but scaling up x10 for path and diameters, then down x0.1 worked fine for that too... I am going to publish the update in the PluginStore shortly...
When it arrives please install and test it...
I think it will now address your concerns... -
Fantastic!
