Manage extensions across multiple users
-
Hi all
We have about a floating license setup with about 10 active users.
I want to standardize extensions that are installed so that everyone has access to the same tools.
Would i just get other users to login with the same account?
Any ideas would be great

What version of SketchUp are you using? With SU 2014 you've got some good options.
Please take a moment and update your profile.

Hello
We are attempting a standardised extension system as well - but use SU8 on OSX and Win7 at the same time.
I have used AdditionalPluginFolder, Sketchucation Plugin Store, and LaunchUp as a start to try and manage this.
This method requires ADP, SPS and the Libfredo files to be installed locally, and Launchup to be installed on the shared folder (linked to by ADP)
I think this works/will work but I would prefer to limit PluginStore to the admin machine, and alter AdditionalPluginFolder so that the folder locations are hard coded into the ruby script.
There is a comment in the AdditionalPluginFolder thread by TIG about a script he created to add a shared folder location (hard coded) to Sketchup's plugin load path. This would probably be ideal.
I'm sure the woes of shared extension management would interest people, so I'll post my findings here.
Thanks
