Desktop Icon/User Account Control Warning
-
I cannot seem to resolve this User Account Control popup warning for Sketchup 2014. The desktop icon has the blue and gold shield superimposed on it.
I thought I had done the permissions settings properly.
There has always been in my mind a question about the names listed in the interface. Let me attach an image..As you can see: SYSTEM and INTERACTIVE. Do these need full permission?
The other two are me. There have been other "entities" listed before, but that may have been at other Properties levels.In the checkbox view, there is a check for "special permission" in some instances--not all.
I have studied the "Learn More" link in that UI, but of course, it is not specific enough to resolve my questions. It doesn't have any graphic cues. I do not know what "Objects" mean in this context, for instance. -
I have the blue and gold shield too but that's because I set it up to Run as administrator. It does pop up a message box before opening but I just click through it. Other programs set up to Run as administrator, do it, too. Never gave it much thought.

Actually my Sketchup8 and 2014 icons have it, but 2013 did not, and now, after another cold system reboot due to freeze up, my 2014 icon has changed, and, as far as I know, I did not change any specific permissions settings.
I am also having slow page loading on this forum, as in blank screen and a run through in the little info box at lower left--whatever that's called. There may be other stuff going on.
Hmmm the simple act of scrutiny alters the experiment. Heisenberg is Breaking Bad again.

I have question more for my own education;
Why does any one want to run all the time as true admin? If you do then the possibility if you are hacked the PC is opened up in total to them. True admin by passes all security. In windows seven they tag this as elevated admin.;
It is my under standing that xp, vista, w7 by default does not show admin log on at the welcome screen. For example I have windows 7 64 bit and at that login my user name shows and when I log on WIN reports as admin but it really not but more like a supper user. If I want full admin control then I need to take specific action to log on as true admin. + separate pass word required.Windows xp control is different than vista,7, and 8. Do a search on net to enable them. -
Yea, I have had that thought before. And that is partly why I asked those questions. However, I have more or less accepted that my security system: firewall, antivirus and antispy ware are operating.
