Override material option error

hi, I just started learning about vray options effects on the final rendering but when I switch on the override material option the result is a black render. I tried changing the filter colour but the result is the same. Is there anything I'm missing??

Sounds like you have no light in your scene. Is it an interior using emmitters as lights? Is your GI turned off?

Yes its an interior but I have windows in the scene and I have default lights switched on.
I tried reducing the shutter speed and changing the GI color and number but it still doesnt work.
I also downloaded a tutorial and tried changing my options to the
exact same options of the tutorial... Still nothing. -
did you make sure that in your window glass material, you have the option "Can be Overridden" disabled?
