What sort of tricks do you guys have for sending a batch of renderings. Here are a couple scenarios.

    1. Rendering a series of scenes in a single SU file. I've had issues with layers turning on and off as it switches between scenes. Is this a known issue or perhaps something file specific?

    2. Rendering images from separate SU files. I've had issues when I start a second simultaneous render where it said it was "waiting" or something but the renders never picked up after the first image completed.

      You're on 2.0, right?

      1. You need to make sure your layer visibility is set correctly in your scenes. This was something that didn't work before 2.0, but now that it works - it's a matter of setting it properly in SU.

      2. Isn't' that just a licensing restriction - only one instance of vray at a time. What does the progress window say? (Does it even come up in your 2nd window?)

I don't think batch rendering is in the current public release. It's in the works for the next maintenance release for sure as I have seen and used it. For now, I think you have to use the old Animation to 1 FPS trick, and this method DOES NOT recognize layer state changes.

Right, I was assuming he was doing the 1 FPS animation. Just forgot that it still only uses the first frame layer state, plus face-me geometry is frozen at where ever it is in the first frame.

Thanks for the tips. Good to know it's being worked on. Andy, I'm not sure about the license restriction. With 3ds Max I can render simultaneous renders I believe but perhaps VfSU works differently. When I get a chance I'll retest and find out what the message box says exactly.
